Í døgunum 16. mars til 24. apríl 2026 verður eitt lesiátak í 4., 5. og 6. flokki í skúlanum við Løkin, sum verður nevnt miðvísa lesiskeiðið.

Miðvísa lesiskeiðið er eitt lesiátak, har næmingarnir lesa frílesing ein skúlatíma um dagin í fimm vikur. Næmingarnir lesa eisini 20 minuttir frílesing heima hvønn dag og arbeiða við sama slag uppgávum heima sum í skúlanum.

Endamálið við miðvísa lesiskeiðinum er at halda lesingina við líka, at menna tryggu og skjótu lesingina og at víðka orðfeingið. Á hesum lesiskeiðinum fara næmingarnir at lesa nógvar ymiskar bøkur. Harvið vóna vit, at næmingarnir fáa hug at lesa meira.

Fleiri kanningar seinastu árini hava staðfest, at næmingarnir í miðdeild gevast at lesa av egnum huga. Tað gleðiliga er, at allar flestu næmingarnir gera munandi framstig í lesingini við at fara ígjøgnum Miðvísa lesiskeiðið.

From March 16th to April 24th, 2026, there will be a reading initiative for the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades at Skúlin við Løkin, called Focused Reading Course (miðvísa lesiskeiðið).

The Focused Reading Course is a reading initiative where the students read independently for a whole lesson a day for five weeks. It is also required that the students read at home for 20 minutes each day and do the same type of tasks at home as they do at school.

The goal of the Focused Reading Course (miðvísa lesiskeiðið) is to maintain reading skills, to develop steady and fluent reading, and to expand the student’s vocabulary. During this course, the students will read many different books. With this, we hope that the students will be inspired to read more.

Several studies in recent years have shown that students in middle grades tend to stop reading books willingly. The good news is, that many of the students make significant progress in their reading skills after completing the miðvísa lesiskeiðið (The Focused Reading Course).
